Following a career in corporate finance, Bryan A. Gutraj began practicing as a public accountant in 2002.
Bryan is an Illinois licensed attorney and a certified public accountant. Breaking the traditional public accounting firm mold, he brings a wealth of corporate accounting and finance experience with both Fortune 500 corporations and small to mid-size businesses to his clients.
Bryan A. Gutraj, CPA provides a unique background and broad experience base to assist clients in business, accounting, and law.
Bryan earned his Bachelor of Science from Eastern Illinois University and then joined the Financial Development Program of Baxter International. While at Baxter, Bryan worked on a variety of issues including software implementation, streamlining the AP and AR process, and assisting the operational leaders of their North American manufacturing plants in the financial reporting and budgeting requirements.
Following his tenure at Baxter, Bryan Gutraj joined General Electric in Chicago with the GE Capital Railcar Services Group. As senior accountant for this subsidiary of GE Capital, Bryan was responsible for the financial planning, budgeting and accounting of GE Capital's $4 billion fixed assets.
Perhaps the most valuable experience came at Inktel Direct in which Bryan served as a controller. Inktel is a midsize, minority owned business specializing in direct mail and fulfillment. While working as their senior level finance person, Bryan stepped up and focused on operations while building the accounting and finance functions. In addition to overseeing the day to day operations of the accounting and finance departments, Bryan worked with the plant and warehouse managers to improve efficiencies and streamline work processes.
Bryan Gutraj graduated from John Marshall Law School in 2004. After attending four years of night school, Bryan earned his Juris Doctor and became a member of the Illinois Bar in 2005.
In addition to the required core classes, Bryan’s coursework included Corporations, Sales, Payment Systems, and Estates. Also, he studied European Union laws and EU business organizations at the University of Vienna (Austria). In 2005 Bryan earned a certificate in International Business and Trade Law.
Bryan is an adjunct professor at Columbia College- Missouri in their business and criminal law curriculum. Additionally, he has authored articles and frequently lectures on tax, real estate, business, and aviation related matters.
In his free time, Bryan enjoys traveling as he is an avid instrument-rated private pilot. Also, he is a dedicated philanthropist fundraising and/or advising over a dozen different not-for-profit organizations. |
