Bryan Gutraj's call to public service was spurred by the fact that many important issues have gone unresolved by the current leadership. The Board is charged with over seeing the entire county government, including Lake County Forest Preserve. Outlined below are the major issues that Bryan will address as a member of this important and influential Board.

Environment
Keeping a balance between open space and growth will be a key priority for Bryan. By increased efficiencies and oversight, Bryan plans to improve the Lake County Forest Preserve and open space initiatives. Completing the Des Plaines River Trail, the creation of east-west paths to connect to the Des Plaines River Trail and opening more forest preserve land to the public will be among Bryan’s important initiatives.

Traffic
As everyone who drives on our roadways realizes, traffic congestion is unbearable. To alleviate this problem, Bryan will support the extension of Route 53 and increased funding to increase capacity of existing roadways.

Taxes and Growth
With property taxes continuing to escalate, a solid plan is required to curb this growth. District 6 has experienced an enormous boom in residential population over the last decade, however the area has not been a similar rise in business development. Through development of more small businesses and light industrial properties, future growth in property taxes can be minimized.

Governmental Cooperation
One important philosophy that Bryan believes is in that smaller government is better government. Bryan Gutraj will reign in a new era of governmental cooperation by working with all taxing bodies to make certain your tax dollars are being efficiently and effectively utilized.
